California four o’clock (Mirabilis laevis var. crassifolia) on a slope along Colby Trail in Glendora. Also known as wishbone bush, this plant may also be sold at nurseries under the name Mirabilis californica. After blooming this plant will often drop its leaves until the next blooming season, so some gardeners plant it near evergreen plants.
