Jill Elizabeth Davis (Doughtie) founded L.A. Native Plant Connection, LLC in 2022. She began gardening with California native plants in her home garden in 2009, and she began studying local native plants formally in 2018.
Her home garden uses local native plants, arranged the way they grow in nature. She works with wildlife gardens of all kinds, from formal to naturalistic, and from hyper local to inclusive of plants from all over the world. Her goal with L.A. Native Plant Connection, LLC is to connect more Los Angeles native plants with Los Angeles area gardens and to support habitat for pollinators and wildlife Southern California’s built environment.
She regularly participates in continuing education related to botany, ecology, and horticulture.
