About

My name is Jill Elizabeth Davis (Doughtie) and I have been gardening with California native plants for about fifteen years.

Beyond gardening with native plants, I started formally studying them in 2018. In 2021 I began gardening professionally, and in 2022 I started L.A. Native Plant Connection, LLC.

My home garden

My home garden uses local native plants, arranged the way they grow in nature. I love working with wildlife gardens of all kinds, from formal to naturalistic, and from hyper local to inclusive of plants from all over the world. My goal with L.A. Native Plant Connection, LLC is to connect more Los Angeles native plants with Los Angeles area gardens and to support habitat for pollinators and wildlife at home where we live, so we can all have nature in our lives every day.

I regularly participate in continuing education related to botany, ecology, and horticulture.
